Long-Term Vision: A Global Renaissance

An ideal liberal education respects and draws upon the wisdom traditions of all the world's civilizations to forge a harmonious global culture. By now translating into modern languages the works of the Indo-Tibetan civilizations preserved in the Tanjur and associated literature, AIBS is creating a key, primary resource for a global core curriculum. These translations serve as resources for new generations of modern students and intellectuals in their awareness and appreciation of the spiritual, aesthetic, religious, intellectual, scientific, and philosophical achievements of the Indo-Tibetan civilizations. Global engagement with these resources will contribute to an understanding of their contemporary practical relevance. They will stimulate the development of the philosophical openness and acuity, the emotional maturity, and the attitudinal flexibility conducive to the radical individual and societal transformation that will lead to a truly global renaissance.
